Performance Specs of Our Formula E Race Car

As Season 3 of the FIA Formula E Championship traverses the globe – competing on unique city street race circuits along the way – the Faraday Future Dragon Racing (FFDR) team continues its focus on powertrain refinement, earning its place among an increasing number of renowned competitors, including Audi, Jaguar, BMW, Renault, and in Season 5, Mercedes-Benz. With every race, the FF “Polarity” livery design garners more recognition among fans, while a growing wave of enthusiasts discover the distinctive technology powering our electric race vehicles.

Formula E fans, take a glimpse at the parts and performance numbers that make up an FFDR race car. In Season 3, the series allows software, motor, transmission and damper development alongside series specified battery, chassis, and tires.

Series-Wide Updates for Season 3

Teams are now free to pursue powertrain development to improve the e-motor, inverter, gearbox, and cooling system. FFDR is excited to refine these elements and unlock a new level of performance in our race cars.

The spec battery, supplied by Williams Advanced Engineering, increased maximum power output – from 150kW to 170kW, and up to 200kW during qualifying.

Energy captured through regenerative braking has increased from 100kW to 150kW, transforming the natural kinetic energy in the rear axle’s rotation into more utilizable power.

The standardized steering wheel now offers enhanced driver communication and control, with six rear paddles, six rotary controls, 10 buttons, an FIA warning light, and a customizable LCD display.

A new front wing featuring sidepods and turning vanes aids in aerodynamics, and effectively adds a top plane, improving vehicle balance and component durability.

New 18-inch treaded all-weather Michelin tires offer more reliable and predictable grip levels.
