FX Aegis Ultra.

FX Aegis Ultra is a professional, embodied-AI quadruped robot built for security and companionship — a 12-degree-of-freedom, full-body articulated platform with an open SDK for motion control and secondary development. This guide walks you through your first power-on and charge, remote controller pairing, status indicators, and everyday care.

FX Aegis Ultra is not a toy and must not be operated by children or unsupervised users. Operate only on a flat, hard, open surface with at least 1 meter of clearance, free of people, pets, and obstacles.

Powering On

  1. Remove FX Aegis Ultra from its packaging and place it on a flat surface with the limbs clear of obstructions.
  2. Take out the battery and insert it into the battery compartment until it seats securely.
  3. Press the battery power button once, then press and hold for 5 seconds to power on.
  4. Wait for the boot sequence to complete — a steady blue LED means boot is complete and FX Aegis Ultra is ready.

Powering Off

  1. Bring FX Aegis Ultra into a lying-down position.
  2. Press the battery power button once, then press and hold for 5 seconds to power off.
  3. Once all LEDs on the battery turn off, the robot is fully shut down.

Emergency Stop

  1. Press L1 + R1 simultaneously on the remote controller, or use the Emergency Stop option in the controller.
  2. The robot activates soft-stop mode and automatically lies down.
  3. Resume normal operation only when it is safe to do so.

Charging

Charging the Battery.

FX Aegis Ultra uses a replaceable battery with hot-swap capability. A full charge takes about 1 hour, measured at a standard ambient temperature of 25°C. Track charge progress on the battery's four LED segments using the reference tables below.

Power adapter: light off = no power · light on = connected to mains power (100V–240V).

Battery charging time should not exceed 24 hours — overcharging may reduce battery lifespan. Use only the official power adapter, and unplug immediately if the battery emits an unusual odor, smokes, deforms, or shows other abnormalities while charging.

Remote Controller

Connecting the Smart Robot Controller.

FX Aegis Ultra pairs with its dedicated Smart Robot Controller over Wi-Fi. Pair it before your first drive.

  1. Press and hold the power button at the top of the remote controller to power it on.
  2. Tap the Smart Robot Controller app icon to launch the application.
  3. On the app's main page, tap the button in the upper-left corner to open System General Settings.
  4. Tap "Not Connected" in the upper-right corner to start the connection.
  5. Select the robot's Wi-Fi network — the network name is printed on the device nameplate. Enter the password 12345678.
  6. The app confirms pairing once the connection succeeds.

Turbo Mode: enhanced performance and additional special actions for research and demonstrations.

Special actions in Turbo Mode place heavy load on the joint modules. Use them cautiously and limit duration to protect the robot's lifespan.

Enable Turbo Mode

  1. Tap the settings button in the upper-left corner.
  2. Enable Turbo Mode.
  3. Confirm the activation prompt — Turbo Mode is now enabled.

More App Features

  • Screen Recording — tap the record button to start, tap the red stop button to end. Videos are saved to the controller gallery.
  • Screenshot — tap the screenshot button in the lower-right corner; saved to the controller gallery.
  • Tracking — open settings, select the tracking function, choose a detected target, then tap Start Tracking.
  • Video Stream Toggle — open settings and switch the video stream option, then save.

FX Aegis Ultra communicates its status through its head and tail lighting. Use this reference to read what your robot is doing at a glance.

Troubleshooting

Common Issues.

Remote Control Cannot Connect

  1. Confirm the robot has started and no other version of the app is running in the background.
  2. Restart the robot and the app, then try connecting again.

Controller Connected but Robot Is Unresponsive

  1. Make sure the controller is connected to the robot's correct Wi-Fi network.
  2. Wait about 10 seconds, then try operating the robot again.
  3. If there is still no response, restart the robot.

Robot Stops Moving on Its Own

  1. This is often the protection function activating. Wait about 10 minutes, then try again.
  2. Check that the battery level is sufficient.
  3. Confirm the controller signal has not been disconnected.

Disassembly and installation: use the 2mm hex screwdriver included in the toolkit to loosen the four M4 screws in sequence and remove the cover plate. To reinstall, place the cover plate back and tighten the screws in order.

Usage Restrictions

Who Can Use This Product.

  • This product must not be used by individuals with physical, sensory, or mental impairments, or by those lacking relevant experience and knowledge, including children, unless supervised by a responsible guardian.
  • Do not allow children to treat this product as a toy. Supervise children and pets during operation and keep them at a safe distance.
  • If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced with a special cord or component obtained from the manufacturer or an authorized service provider.
  • Do not operate the product in elevated areas without protective barriers.
  • If the product exhibits abnormal behavior such as leg flailing or violent shaking, press the emergency-stop button to activate soft-stop safety mode.
  • Do not place the product upside down and do not use its legs as carrying handles.
  • Do not operate the product above 40°C or below 0°C, or in areas with heavy electromagnetic / 2.4G interference.
  • Before starting the product, ensure there is at least 1 meter of clear space around it.
  • Do not stand below the robot while it ascends or descends stairs or slopes.
  • Do not place children, pets, or objects on the robot whether it is moving or stationary.
  • Do not insert hands into the range of motion of the robot's joints during transport.
  • Power off the robot and unplug the power cord before cleaning or maintenance — never wipe it with a wet cloth or rinse with liquids.
  • Do not use third-party batteries, power cords, or charging docks.

Safety Notes

Operating Safely.

  • Joint & cable inspection: check for foreign objects around the joints, inspect all cables for damage, and ensure foot pads are intact.
  • Battery & camera check: confirm sufficient battery level and keep cameras clean before operation.
  • Cleaning caution: do not use alcohol or corrosive solvents on the product.
  • Placement: use a hard, flat, appropriate surface to avoid joint stress and body scratches.
  • Foot pad wear: inspect regularly and replace when necessary.
  • Line of sight: keep the robot within view and maintain distance from obstacles and collision points.
  • Terrain: avoid sharp or fast turns on steep, uneven, or unknown terrain; operate only within the specified climbing angle.
  • Prohibited environments: do not use on slippery surfaces, cluttered areas, or terrain beyond specification.
  • Stop conditions: if joints are loose, the robot cannot stand, or excessive noise occurs, stop use immediately.
  • Low battery: charge promptly when the battery is low.
  • Moving parts: avoid contact with moving parts and hot motor surfaces; let the robot rest periodically during prolonged operation.
  • Shutdown: power off the robot immediately after use.

Battery & Charging

Battery & Charging Precautions.

  • Do not disassemble the battery or extract its electrodes by any means.
  • Do not clean the power adapter with alcohol or other flammable agents.
  • If electrolyte contacts your eyes, avoid rubbing them, rinse immediately with clean water, and seek medical attention promptly.
  • If the battery emits an unusual odor, smokes, deforms, or shows other abnormalities during charging, unplug the power adapter immediately and inspect the device.
  • The power adapter may become hot during charging — avoid prolonged contact to prevent burns.
  • Do not use a damaged power adapter; only use the official adapter.
  • Charging time should not exceed 24 hours. Overcharging may reduce battery lifespan.

Risk of explosion exists if the battery is replaced with an incorrect type. Improper disposal, mechanical crushing, cutting, high-temperature exposure, or extremely low air pressure may cause explosion or leakage of flammable liquid or gas.

Transportation & Storage

Handling FX Aegis Ultra.

Product Transportation

The packing box measures 80 × 45 × 25 cm. Remove the battery from the robot before carrying the box, and keep the front of the box facing up during transport.

Storage Environment

Store the power adapter and the entire unit in a dry, cool environment away from direct sunlight, fire sources, and strong electromagnetic fields. Recommended storage temperature is 20–25°C; never exceed 60°C or go below −10°C. For long-term storage, keep relative humidity between 0–60% RH and total battery charge below 50%.

Battery Maintenance

Long idle time may affect battery performance — avoid deep discharge. The battery stops charging automatically once full, but it's recommended to disconnect it afterward. Check the charge level regularly and cycle it every 3 months; if charge is below 20%, recharge to 40–60% before storage.

Handle Gently

After startup, avoid lifting or carrying this product — turn the robot off before carrying it, and handle all parts gently to avoid mechanical impact and damage.

This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.

If this equipment causes harmful interference to radio or television reception, the user is encouraged to reorient or relocate the receiving antenna, increase the separation between the equipment and receiver, connect the equipment into an outlet on a different circuit, or consult the dealer / an experienced radio-TV technician.
