FX Aegis is a professional, embodied-AI quadruped robot designed for security and companionship. This guide walks you through the Aegis Pro and Aegis Edu models — from your first power-on and charge to remote control, status indicators, and everyday care.
Aegis Pro — the professional security & companionship configuration. Aegis Edu — adds an open SDK, communication protocol, and developer expansion ports for hands-on robotics development.
FX AEGIS IS NOT A TOY. THIS PRODUCT IS INTENDED FOR USERS AGED 18 AND OLDER. KEEP ALL COMPONENTS AWAY FROM CHILDREN AND OPERATE ONLY ON A FLAT, OPEN SURFACE CLEAR OF PEOPLE AND OBSTACLES.
Before You Start
Before Your First Session.
The packing list has been verified — robot, battery, charging dock, power adapter, remote controller (Pro & Edu), and toolkit.
FX Aegis is placed on a flat, hard, open surface.
The area is clear of people, pets, obstacles, cables, and fragile objects.
The battery is charged and ready to install.
The remote controller is powered and within reach (Pro & Edu).
Remove FX Aegis from its packaging and place it on a flat, hard surface with the limbs clear of obstructions.
Insert the battery into the battery compartment until it seats securely.
Press the power button once, then press and hold it for at least 5 seconds.
The head indicator flashes blue while booting. When it turns solid blue and stops flashing, FX Aegis is powered on and ready.
Powering Off
Bring FX Aegis into a lying-down posture.
Press the power button once, then press and hold for at least 5 seconds.
When all LEDs on the battery turn off, the robot has shut down.
Charging
Charging the Battery.
Insert the charging cable plug into the port on the bottom of the charging dock.
After confirming the connection is secure, plug the power adapter into a wall socket.
Place the battery into the charging dock — charging begins automatically.
Always connect the charging dock before the power supply, and never plug or unplug the dock while it is powered. A full charge takes about 1 hour.
Remote Controller
Connecting the Remote Controller.
The Aegis Pro and Aegis Edu models include a dedicated remote controller. Pair it with FX Aegis before your first drive.
Insert the battery into the robot's battery compartment.
Press the battery power button once, then press and hold for 5 seconds and release.
Wait about 20 seconds for startup to complete. The battery indicator then shows the robot's remaining charge.
Make sure the controller's mode switch is set to the "X" position.
Press LB + Y to stand FX Aegis up, then gently push the left stick forward to move. If it doesn't respond, press MODE, then push the left stick forward again.

Regular Mode provides stable, standard movement for everyday use. Laboratory Mode unlocks enhanced performance and stunts — but stunt actions place heavy load on the joints, so keep sessions short to protect the robot's lifespan.
Status Indicators
Light Language.
FX Aegis communicates its status through the head / tail indicator. Use this reference to read what your robot is doing at a glance.

Troubleshooting
Common Issues.
Confirm the battery is charged and fully seated in the compartment.
Press the power button once, then hold it for at least 5 seconds.
Watch the head indicator — allow time for it to turn from flashing to solid blue.
If it still does not power on, charge the battery and try again, then contact support.
Make sure the robot is powered on.
Confirm no other version of the app is running in the background on the controller.
If the connection still fails, restart both the robot and the controller, then try to connect again.
Confirm the controller is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network of the robot.
Wait about 10 seconds, then try operating the robot again.
If there is still no response, restart the robot.
This is often the protection function activating. Wait about 10 minutes, then try again.
Check that the battery level is sufficient.
Confirm the controller signal has not been disconnected.
Models
Aegis Pro & Aegis Edu.
Both models share the same quadruped platform and remote controller. Aegis Edu adds an open development stack for STEM, research, and secondary development.
Aegis Edu exposes an onboard expansion bay for secondary development. Open the bay by loosening the four M4 screws with the 2 mm hex driver in the toolkit, then remove the cover plate.
Interface
Details
Ethernet (RJ45) ×1
Up to 1,000 Mbps — networking, remote monitoring, data transfer
USB Type-A ×2
Storage devices, cameras, sensors, and other USB peripherals
DC power ×2
12 V and 24 V outputs for the robot and onboard equipment
SBUS ×1
RC receivers and other SBUS-protocol devices
UART ×1
Serial communication with embedded systems
The expansion interfaces are available on Aegis Edu only — they are not included on the base Aegis or Aegis Pro editions.
Care & Storage
Transport & Storage.
Remove the battery before transporting the robot in its box (box dimensions 64 × 46 × 41.5 cm), and keep the front of the box facing up.
Store the robot and power adapter in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight, open flame, and strong electromagnetic fields — ideally 20°C – 25°C.
Never store above 60°C or below −10°C.
For long-term storage: 20°C – 25°C, 0 – 60% relative humidity, and keep the battery below 50% charge.
Avoid deep-discharging the battery; recharge it periodically to preserve battery health.
Safety
Battery & Safety.
Use only the correct battery type. An incorrect battery type creates a risk of explosion.
Never dispose of a battery in fire or an oven, and never crush or cut it.
Do not expose the battery to extreme heat or extremely low air pressure — both can cause explosion or leakage of flammable liquid or gas.
Operate and store the robot away from high-temperature and high-pressure environments.
This product is intended for users aged 18 and older. Keep all components away from children.
